MPNP Recommendations for the Management of Neuropathic Pain Associated with Peripheral Nerve Entrapment

Peripheral nerve injury is often associated with neuropathic pain symptoms, which are caused by trauma to a nerve or nerve entrapment. The treatment of neuropathic pain associated with peripheral nerve entrapment or injury differs from other neuropathic pain conditions such as postherpetic neuralgia, painful diabetic neuropathy and trigeminal neuralgia. This recommendation is structured by nerve level for ease of reference.

The Multidisciplinary Panel on Neuropathic Pain (MPNP) published this recommendation in August 2010 as an update of an earlier version first published in September 2005.
